NAME: Shikha Jain
POSITION: Director of Development
HI! I’M SHIKHA. After years of tackling the pressing issues of homelessness reduction through employment and LGBT media advocacy in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, I recently joined the Foundation to execute our fundraising and community engagement strategy to achieve a future without breast cancer. Originally from the Midwest, I studied political communications at the University of Dayton and the University of Illinois-Chicago and am thrilled to parlay my philanthropy experience with my passion for creating change through research. Most importantly, I am delighted to work with the Foundation’s generous donors and partners!
OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE: My favorite things are food, culture, travel and my dog. I look forward to celebrating three of the four in 2014 when my husband and I travel to Uganda to experience firsthand the tremendous work of The Bernie Project, a non-profit initiative committed to stabilizing the essential basics of nutrition, hygiene, health and education for the children of the Wakiso School of Hope. Sadly, my dog cannot handle the long flight!
I ACT WITH LOVE BECAUSE… the breast cancer community and its supporters are extraordinary. I am honored to be part of an inclusive family focused on innovation and determination.
A FUTURE WITHOUT BREAST CANCER IS: Bright. Equal. Free.
