As the frenzy of Breast Cancer Awareness month dies down in November, I am aware of how grateful I am for all of the support our Foundation receives and how much personal support I get from each of you as I travel the country.

This past October was particularly inspiring. We were especially excited that the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation was named the 2011 beneficiary of Project Pink by PUMA®! and received a check for $103,500! Thank you to each and every one of you who voted for us and tweeted every day! We will immediately put the money to work to support our programs aimed at finding the cause of breast cancer and stopping it once and for all!

I also want to thank 100% Pure, Be Bold, Bald!, Genomic Health’s Pass it On campaign, and Panera, for supporting us in October.  Their products and your purchasing power are an important source of funding for our work.  With all the attention that breast cancer gets in October, it is sometimes hard to go beyond awareness to asking the hard questions about where the money goes and consciously supporting an organization like ours whose goals are clear going beyond the cure. We appreciate every one of you.

Finally, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, I want to use this opportunity to let you know how grateful I am for all the women and men who continue to support our efforts not only in October, but also throughout the year. I also want to thank the Foundation’s staff and board members who make our day-to-day achievements possible. And last but not least, I want to thank my family members and friends who give me the personal support I need to achieve my goals. Without them, none of this work would be possible.

Happy Thanksgiving!

One Response to Gratitude

Having the right information at the right time is invaluable for decision making. I wish your book to be made available for all the women/families who need support and answers OR possibilities.
