The outpouring of support my family and I have received since letting people know about my leukemia diagnosis has left me speechless.

It is one thing to be diagnosed with cancer. It is quite another to know that thousands of women and men have me in their thoughts as I embark on my personal journey to cancer survivorship.

Having completed a few marathons, I can say I know a bit about endurance, and fighting through pain. I expected to draw open that experience during my treatment. Now, I will also draw upon the words so many of you shared: words of hope, words of inspiration, and words of encouragement.

I love Joan’s image of my cancer cells being smothered by my good karma. And as Liz, Carol, and Kathy each reminded me: I have the love and support of an entire Army of Women behind me and leukemia doesn’t stand a chance against this Army!

I’m off to do what Casey said its a** and teach us more than you already have by doing so.

I will update you soon.

With gratitude,
Dr. Susan Love

  3. Susan,
My prayers are with you and your family, daily, and I’ve added your name to my church’s prayer list.

Don’t know what your treatment regimen will be, but in light of your and Robin Robert’s diagnosis (they are different), I’m working on hosting a “Be the Match” bone marrow donation where all of the members of my church can swab their cheek on an upcoming Sunday.

Yes, sweet lady! Kick that thing to the curb!

Several month ago, I found out about your web site and was so happy that I found you and your compation toward breast cancer is still alive.
My recomendation to finght cancer is that I imagined little doctor inside of me were burning off the cancer cells. Also most important thing was and is the faith .. and I try to think about happy things to bring up immue system to fight off the invader. Of course you have to have good neutrition and diet so your own body can fight. I am believer of herbs, vitamin, and law foods.
I feel most important thing to fight off the any illness is to make immune system to top shape. Food, herbs, laugh a lot, deep breathing to calm your nerve, exercise for circuration, etc …….
We need Doctor like you … and we love you very much and praying ..

I met you on my first trip to San Antonio as a patient advocate – that was 2004. We missed you greatly this year. NO Susan Love to shake up the Hot Topics panel, and make provocative statements (or mutterings that we tried hard to catch!).

The group is wishing you all the best with your recovery and return to full health.
